Sobotno izletkanje

SATURDAY'S DAY OUT

/ In spite of the weather forecast, we drove to Ljubljana yesterday, to see the Science Festival and the Art Market, where I personally met Majda, visited Klavdija and Petra, and admired all the beauties on their stands.

Za Klavdijo sem opravila še eno osebno dostavo:
/ I made a personal delivery for Klavdija:

/ And she let me pick one of her gorgeous ones:

Potem smo pot nadaljevali proti Piranu
/ Then we drove on to Piran

in namočili noge v morje.
/ and plunged our feet into the sea.

/ On our return, we were heavily washed by the rain all the way :)

Opozorilo!

WARNING! (Jenny Joseph, 1932)
prevod Ifigenija Simonovič

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.

Ko bom stara, bom nosila vijoličasto
in rdeč klobuk, narobne barve in oblike.
Pokojnino bom zapravila za žganje in poletne rokavice
in satenaste sandale. Rekla bom, da nimamo za maslo.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

Sedla bom na pločnik, ko bom upehana.
V trgovinah bom jedla, kar dajo zastonj,
in sprožala bom alarme. S palico bom ropotala po ograjah.
To vse na račun resnosti v mladosti.

I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other peoples' gardens
And learn to spit.

V copatih bom šla ven, ko bo deževalo,
in rože bom trgala po sosednjih vrtovih.
Naučila se bom pljuvati.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

pojedla tri funte klobas naenkrat

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

Prijatelje moramo vabiti v goste in brati časopise.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Petdeset

FIFTY

V življenju človeka so šole in Šole. Druge so Šole, ki ostanejo tvoje še dolgo potem, ko več nisi del njihovega vsakdanjika, v katerih pustiš del svoje duše in del svojega srca.
/ In the life of every person, there are schools and Schools. The first ones are schools, which go by, one way or another, leaving someting sweet and something bitter. The others are Schools, which remain a part of you for a long time after you stop sharing their daily life, and in which you leave a part of your soul and a part of your heart.

Moja Šola je ta teden praznovala 50. obletnico. Še enkrat čestitke vsem, ki ste bili in ste še vedno tisto, čemur pravim "moja Šola"...
/ My School celebrated its 50th anniversary this week. Once again, my congratulations to all of you who were, and still are what I call "my School"...

/ I made this card following Kristina Werner's Readers' Choice Colour Inspiration. This combination is totally "my kind of colours"!

/ And yes, in case you were wondering but didn't bother to count, there are fifty flowers in the bouquet. And the purple ones are for the years I spent at the School.

Rainy night in Georgia

Ja, še za enega sem našla pesem. Na neko nostalgijo mi tolče zadnje čase...
/ That's right, it's another one with an accompanying song. Feeling kinda nostalgic lately...

No, cel je pa takle:

Verde, zeleno, green

Verde que te quiero verde.
Verde viento. Verdes ramas.
El barco sobre la mar
y el caballo en la montaña.
Con la sombra en la cintura
ella sueña en su baranda,
verde carne, pelo verde,
con ojos de fría plata.
Verde que te quiero verde.
Bajo la luna gitana,
las cosas le están mirando
y ella no puede mirarlas.
...

Romance Sonámbulo (Federico García Lorca)

Zeleno, ki te hočem zeleno.
Zeleni veter. Zelene veje.
Ladja na morju
in konj na planini.
S senco ob pasu
ona sanja na balkonu,
polti zelene, las zelenih,
z očmi iz hladnega srebra.
Zeleno, ki te hočem zeleno.
Pod ciganskim mesecem
stvari jo motrijo
in ona jih ne more motriti.
...

Prevod: Jože Udovič

Ljubim te, zeleno ljubim.
Veje in zeleni veter.
Ladja na širokem morju,
Na planini iskri žrebec.
Za ograjo ona sanja,
V pas se ji lovijo sence,
Koža in lasje zeleni,
Oči hladno posrebrnene.
Ljubim te, zeleno ljubim.
Pod ciganskim svetlim mescem
So stvari zazrte vanjo,
Nje oči so zanje slepe.
...

Prevod: Aleš Berger

Green, how I want you green.
Green wind. Green branches.
The ship out on the sea
and the horse on the mountain.
With the shade around her waist
she dreams on her balcony,
green flesh, her hair green,
with eyes of cold silver.
Green, how I want you green.
Under the gypsy moon,
all things are watching her
and she cannot see them.
...

Love letters in the sand

Jagodni frape

/ Lately, one of the most often used sentences on our blogs has been 'I haven't posted anything for a long time, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been crafting.' This goes for me as well. If I look back and see that in April I managed to make a new post for every single day... But that doesn't mean that I haven't been crafting :)

/ I had two or three trays of fimo to bake, I've already shown some "cookies" at the meeting and coffee session, and now I'm putting them on cords and chains to show them here as well.

In prvo v vrsti objavljam danes. Sfrtajčkano. Kot jagodni frape.
/ And I'm posting the first one today. A swirly one. As a strawberry frappe.

Prijetno nedeljo vam želim.

Že cel teden

A WHOLE WEEK

/ It's been a week since our Treasure Island meeting which took place in Velenje last Saturday, and I haven't managed to write anything about it yet.

/ This time, the group of crafters was smaller than in any other meeting that I have attended so far, but it was pleasant and fun - just like any other meeting.

Urška je za nas pripravila delavnico kaligrafije. Pridno smo sledili navodilom in se trudili s 45-stopinjskim kotom in vzporednicami.
/ Urška prepared a calligraphy workshop for us. We followed her instructions like good pupils and struggled with the 45-degree angle and parallel lines.

Imeli smo tudi izmenjavo razpisanih fimo palčkov-malčkov. Moj prispevek:
/ We also exchanged our fimo inchies. My contribution:

/ Each participant made as many inchies as there were other participants, and at the meeting, we made little piles of different inchies for each of us to take home.

En kompletek sem spremenila v magnetke in jih položila na dno škatlice, v kateri sem našemu gostitelju v zahvalo predala eno Urškino sovico.
/ I turned on set into little magnets and put them on the bottom of the box together with an owl made by Urška, which I gave as a thank you present to our host.

/ Urška and Lidija and I agreed to prepare two presents each for the raffle organised for our guests. I chose two necklaces.

/ We put the presents we received into the boxes prepared for us by Andreja. In the previous meeting, she showed us how she paints lilacs, and I told her it was one of my three favourite flowers. So I got it - painted on the lid of the box.

In lepote in kupčki uporabnih stvari, ki sem jih doma zložila iz škatle (čokoladni del daril sem pospravila drugam).
/ All the pretty and useful things I took out from the box when I got home (the chocolate part of the presents was stashed somewhere else).

/ And a close-up of the purple present from Neža and the candy and present from Klavdija.

Še enkrat hvala vsem udeležencem za še eno prijetno ustvarjalno sobotno druženje.

Toliko, da se vidi objem

JUST TO SHOW YOU THE HUG

/ Unlike many other bloggers, I decided already at the beginning that I would not be posting any photos of our family, especially any photos of the children, and especially any photos of other children.

That's why I decided to crop the photo of our little angel holding his Shaun the Sheep. Just to show you the hug.

Bacek Jon

SHAUN THE SHEEP

/ In our family, we have a little boy who is a great fan of Shaun. And when I found a crochet pattern on the site www.purplelindacrafts.co.uk, I gave it a try. And with every finished piece, it seemed more probable that I will be able to make something that will actually look like Shaun the Sheep.

/ Before I gave it away at our family meeting, he let us took some more photos of him.

/ And on a little blanket, with a wreath of daisies.

/ And then it was love at first sight. The best thing that can happen to the person that has made a toy for a child...

Petelinček

LITTLE ROOSTER

Lani je bila ovčka - za Irsko. / Last year, it was a little sheep - for Ireland.
Letos je petelinček - za Portugalsko. / This year, it is a little rooster - for Portugal.

- For Urška, for the European village, according to the legend of roosters of Barcelos.

No, moj je malo manjši. / Well, mine is a bit smaller.
